Over a decade ago, Dr. Brady ("Doc") traveled to the country of Belize for a study abroad program dedicated to Wildlife & Conservation Medicine. During this experience, she discovered her calling in exotic animal medicine.
Dr. Brady received her B.S. in Animal Science and Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degrees from Texas A&M University (WHOOP!). Following graduation, Dr. Brady returned to Belize to serve as a wildlife veterinarian focused on conservation and animal rehabilitation. During this time, she worked at the Belize Wildlife & Referral Clinic alongside multiple non-profit organizations and programs for species survival. She also served as a lecturer with the Wildlife Institute for veterinary study abroad programs. Dr. Brady later completed a post-graduate veterinary internship, and went on to receive additional training under some of the most renowned veterinary and animal care specialists in both private and zoological settings. In 2023, Dr. Brady graduated from the University of Florida's Aquatic Animal Care & Conservation program with honors, and is continuing her pursuit to become a Certified Aquatic Veterinarian.
Prior to AVS, Dr. Brady served as both an Executive Director & Chief Veterinarian at a private zoo in Texas. Upon recognizing the growing need for veterinary oversight and care in the exotic animal community, she decided to open Aggieland Veterinary Services. Dr. Brady is also a faculty member for the Blinn College Veterinary Technology Program where she teaches Exotic Animal Clinical Management to aspiring veterinary technicians.
Dr. Brady's goal has been to establish a comprehensive animal care service that is tailored to the unique medical and husbandry needs of exotic animals. Her passions include nutrition, mammalian internal medicine (especially marsupials), and ungulate immobilization. Dr. Brady aspires to one day expand the practice to further include conservation directed research and education opportunities for aspiring exotic animal veterinarians.
